The Hotel Place D'armes is a European-style hotel and sits across the street from one of the city's prettiest squares and Notre Dame Basilica a short distance from the convention center. Soaring ceilings, graceful arched windows, and ornate plaster moldings greet business and leisure guests in the lobby of this 1870s neoclassic building that was once a bank. Located behind the front desk, a bar and lounge with a fireplace add a contemporary feeling with modern black-and-white furniture and slate floors. Unusual flower arrangements and brilliant green bamboo accents provide splashes of color. For guests dining needs, Aix restaurant, situated on the lower level is sophisticated with its cream leather banquettes and dark wood specializes in cuisine du terroir with ingredients such as lamb, rabbit, oysters, bison, and seafood from Québec and the Atlantic province.
